Transgender Eligibility
Champion Women’s Work Preserving Women’s Sports for Women
Nancy Hogshead has been a prominent voice in the debate over transgender eligibility in sports. She advocates for policies that provide women with fairness and a level playing field. Hogshead believes that transgender women should be allowed to compete in women's sports, provided they can demonstrate that they have mitigated the advantages of male puberty.
In 2020, when Nancy Hogshead, and the Women’s Sports Policy Working Group became active in this space, we believed the scientist that told us competition could be fair with surgery and drugs. We have since learned that it is impossible to mitigate the athletic advantages that come with being male, and particularly male puberty. All athletes are included in sport, in their sex category.
